<\/p>\nChandigarh: New details have emerged in the Faridkot murder case, where Rupinder Kaur, accused of killing her husband Gurvinder Singh along with her boyfriend, had been actively building an image as an Instagram influencer.<\/p>\n
According to police, Rupinder ran an account under the name Rooplabel, where she regularly posted reels on Punjabi songs while showcasing boutique suits. Though the suits were shown as the primary focus, her videos increasingly centred around herself, makeup routines and attempts to create a social media presence.<\/p>\n
Notably, Rupinder never featured her husband in any of her reels and did not mention her marriage on her Instagram profile. Investigations revealed that while Gurvinder wanted to renew his work permit in Canada, she was adamant about returning to Punjab to open a boutique. Police suspect she was already in touch with her boyfriend Harkanwal and came back to Punjab with a clear plan.<\/p>\n
Police have arrested Rupinder, her boyfriend Harkanwal, and his associate Vishwadeep of Dabwali in connection with the murder. Officers said Rupinder has been frequently changing her statements during questioning.<\/p>\n
Followers turn against her<\/p>\n
Initially, Rupinder\u2019s videos received praise online. But after the murder came to light, the same followers began posting angry comments, demanding strict punishment, including the death penalty. Police have also found that she operated three Instagram accounts, one of which was kept private.<\/p>\n

Family alleges conspiracy<\/p>\n
Jaswinder Singh, father-in-law of the accused, said the family had returned to Punjab just two days ago. His elder daughter lives in Canada, and when she gave birth, Rupinder insisted on visiting her, using it as an opportunity to go abroad.<\/p>\n
Jaswinder said they had no idea she would \u201ckill Gurvinder from behind\u201d and alleged that she acted before their return to Punjab on December 8. \u201cJaswinder was our only heir. This deserves a death sentence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added that the family fulfilled her wishes by opening a boutique for her and providing a car for travel. \u201cBut she destroyed our home,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
