Punjab News:<\/span> The Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill, today called on the Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, who also serves as the Chancellor of the University.<\/p>\n

In his first meeting after assuming office, Dr. Gill apprised the Governor of the University\u2019s ongoing activities and presented a comprehensive overview of its academic framework, infrastructure, and institutional development. He also submitted a detailed three-year roadmap aimed at accelerating growth and elevating the state\u2019s premier sports university to new heights.<\/p>\n

The Governor appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the University and assured full support in further strengthening sports education, research, and infrastructure. He emphasized the need to nurture young sporting talent and position Punjab as a leading centre of excellence in sports.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Dr. Gill met the Finance Minister of Punjab, Harpal Singh Cheema, and elaborated on the University\u2019s vision to transform the state into a hub of sports education, research, and high-performance training. He outlined key strategic initiatives, including the development of world-class sports infrastructure, modernization of training facilities, strengthening of sports science departments, and the integration of advanced technologies in coaching and athlete performance monitoring.<\/p>\n

The Finance Minister assured the Vice Chancellor of the State Government\u2019s full support in realizing these objectives. He reiterated that engaging youth in constructive and productive activities remains one of the government\u2019s top priorities. Promoting sports participation, he noted, not only enhances physical fitness but also instills discipline, leadership, and teamwork among young people.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gill assured both dignitaries that the University would work in close coordination with the State Government to implement the proposed roadmap in a phased and time-bound manner.
