Bhullar is currently lodged in Chandigarh jail in connection with the corruption charges.<\/p>\n<p>According to information, Bhullar had sought bail in the bribery case, but the high court rejected his petition on Tuesday. The CBI opposed the plea, stating that if granted bail, the accused could influence witnesses in the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, Bhullar had earlier secured bail from a lower court in a separate disproportionate assets case. However, he remains in custody in the bribery matter.<\/p>\n<p>The CBI had conducted searches at Bhullar\u2019s residence in Chandigarh\u2019s Sector 40 and other locations, recovering \u20b97.5 crore in cash and 2.5 kg of gold. Initially, the agency had stated that \u20b95 crore and 1.5 kg of gold were seized. The agency also claimed to have recovered keys of BMW and Audi cars, documents related to multiple properties in Punjab, a farmhouse in Samrala, 22 luxury watches, 40 litres of foreign liquor, a double-barrel gun, pistol, revolver, airgun and a large quantity of ammunition.<\/p>\n<p>Bhullar was arrested from his office in Mohali following a complaint by a scrap dealer from Mandi Gobindgarh, who alleged that the officer demanded a bribe of \u20b98 lakh to settle an FIR.
