Chandigarh: Former Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu has launched a sharp attack on Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of being \u201ccompletely disconnected from ground realities\u201d and failing to address internal corruption in the Punjab unit of the party.<\/p>\n
Speaking in Coimbatore, Sidhu alleged that Gandhi\u2019s inaction was weakening the Congress in Punjab. She claimed that members of his inner circle were busy \u201cselling tickets\u201d while he remained unaware of the situation.<\/p>\n
\u201cRahul Gandhi speaks well. He talks about meaningful issues. But what he says and what he does are very different,\u201d Sidhu said.<\/p>\n
She further claimed that for the past eight months she had been seeking time to brief Gandhi about the state of affairs in Punjab. \u201cI have been asking for a meeting to tell him that the person appointed by him in Punjab is not doing justice to the state and is destroying the Congress. I only wanted to inform him that the party is collapsing in Punjab. Tickets have already been sold,\u201d she alleged.<\/p>\n
Sidhu\u2019s remarks come amid ongoing efforts within the Punjab Congress to strengthen the organisation ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The party has not issued an immediate response to her allegations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
