{"id":60733,"date":"2026-02-21T08:44:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T03:14:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/punjabenews.com\/English\/?p=60733"},"modified":"2026-02-21T08:44:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T03:14:17","slug":"our-gurdwaras-are-the-axis-of-our-existence-their-management-must-be-transparent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/punjabenews.com\/English\/punjab\/our-gurdwaras-are-the-axis-of-our-existence-their-management-must-be-transparent\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Gurdwaras Are the Axis of Our Existence; Their Management Must Be Transparent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">This Is Not About Any One Person or Family, It is About Our Apex Religious Body and Our Identity: Sandhwan<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Punjab E News:<\/span> Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan today emphasized that Sikh institutions and Gurdwaras are the symbols of the community\u2019s social, political, and religious identity, and the source of its strength. \u201cOur Gurdwaras are the axis of our existence,\u201d he said, asserting that their management must be transparent and guided by the spirit of Sarbat da Bhala.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to the historic role of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Sandhwan described it as a revered institution that, a century ago, compelled the mighty British Empire to bow and liberated Gurdwaras through collective Panthic strength. \u201cAt that time, we had no political power or financial strength, yet with the Guru\u2019s blessings and faith, everything was done transparently,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Sandhwan stated that whenever questions arise about SGPC\u2019s functioning, they must be taken seriously. \u201cThis is not a political wrestling topic, It is a question of our existence, our esteemed institute and our identity\u201d he said. He clarified that the issue is not against any particular family but about ensuring a transparent and accountable management system.<\/p>\n<p>He urged that criticism or concerns raised by respected religious figures must not be dismissed or turned into personal attacks to shield anyone or a certain family. \u201cThe struggle is not against a family;
