Chandigarh: Flight operations at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar will remain suspended daily from 12:45 pm to 9:45 pm starting April 1 due to runway repair work, officials said.<\/p>\n
The restrictions are likely to remain in place till September as part of efforts to strengthen and modernise the runway. Authorities said the upgrade is aimed at improving safety and facilitating the movement of larger aircraft in the future.<\/p>\n
The maintenance work is expected to impact both domestic and international flights. Domestic routes to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru will be affected, while international services to destinations such as Dubai, Sharjah and Doha will also face disruptions.<\/p>\n
Airlines including IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet may reschedule or cancel flights during the repair period. Officials said efforts are being made to operate most flights during early morning or late night hours to minimise inconvenience to passengers.<\/p>\n
