Chandigarh: A Bathinda court has sent Amritpal Singh Mehro, the main accused in the murder of social media influencer Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, to judicial custody till April 29.<\/p>\n
Mehro was produced in court after the completion of his five-day police remand.<\/p>\n
According to officials, the accused had allegedly fled to the UAE after the murder in June last year. He was later deported and brought back to India on April 10.<\/p>\n
During the hearing, police sought permission to collect his voice sample and conduct an identification parade, but the court rejected both requests.<\/p>\n
Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Raghveer Singh said that recovery of the victim\u2019s phone and identification of an unknown accused remain part of the ongoing investigation, but declined to share further details.<\/p>\n
Interestingly, the police did not seek further custody of the accused. Sources said three mobile phones recovered from Mehro have been sent to a forensic science laboratory for data recovery as part of the probe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
