The management said the decision was taken keeping public safety as the top priority.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities, shop owners and suppliers have been informed about the closure. The company clarified that the mall will reopen only after the structure is deemed completely safe and fit for use.<\/p>\n<p>However, experts believe structural concerns may not be the only reason behind the shutdown. Declining footfall, financial losses and increasing competition from newer malls in Mohali are also seen as contributing factors.<\/p>\n<p>Previously known as North Country Mall, the complex was rebranded as VR Punjab in 2017, but its performance reportedly did not improve significantly.
