Chandigarh: Political activity ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections intensified on Tuesday as Aam Aadmi Party held an important state executive organisational meeting at Guru Nanak Bhawan in Ludhiana.<\/p>\n
Senior AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who attended the meeting, launched a sharp attack on the Centre and the Bharatiya Janata Party while speaking to the media.<\/p>\n
Sisodia raised concerns over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Punjab and alleged that the Centre was attempting to influence elections through the exercise.<\/p>\n
He said the meeting was part of the party\u2019s routine organisational activities, but the main focus this time was the SIR process.<\/p>\n
According to Sisodia, the BJP earlier tried to influence elections through agencies such as the ED and CBI, and is now using voter list revision as another tool.<\/p>\n
He alleged that fake votes had been created in the past while names of lakhs of genuine voters were removed from electoral rolls, depriving citizens of their constitutional right to vote.<\/p>\n
Sisodia said AAP is committed to ensuring that not even a single voter in Punjab loses the right to cast a ballot.<\/p>\n
Responding to BJP\u2019s claim that the exercise is aimed at correcting duplicate voter entries, Sisodia accused the BJP of being \u201canti-Punjab.\u201d<\/p>\n
