New Delhi: The troubles of suspended Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar and his family have deepened in the Chandigarh bribery case, with a special CBI court ordering that all bank accounts linked to Bhullar remain frozen until the investigation is completed.<\/p>\n
The court has also earlier rejected a plea filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeking day-to-day hearing in the matter.<\/p>\n
In the same case, difficulties are also mounting for co-accused Krishnu Sharda, as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has now joined the probe alongside the CBI. Earlier, raids were conducted at 11 locations, including Bhullar\u2019s residence in Chandigarh.<\/p>\n
Sources said the ED may soon issue notices to several Punjab IAS and IPS officers for questioning as part of the widening investigation.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the court has approved the CBI\u2019s application related to the preliminary enquiry (PE), clearing the way for further legal and investigative proceedings in the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
