Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday rejected allegations linked to a viral video that recently became the subject of proceedings at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, maintaining that he has no connection with the footage.<\/p>\n
Responding to the decision announced by the Akal Takht, Mann said he had already clarified during his appearance before the religious body that the person seen in the video was not him.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe individual shown in the video does not resemble me in terms of height, physique or body structure. I had made my position clear earlier as well,\u201d the Chief Minister said.<\/p>\n
Mann expressed surprise over the developments and alleged that a false narrative was being created against him. He claimed that attempts were being made to tarnish his image because of decisions taken by his government on issues concerning Punjab, including water resources, farmers and youth welfare.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister reiterated that he holds Sri Akal Takht Sahib in the highest regard and has deep respect for the institution. He said he bows before the Takht and cannot even imagine showing disrespect towards it.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the same time, the Sikh community is fully aware of how decisions are taken and how appointments are made,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Rejecting the allegations once again, Mann said he completely disassociates himself from the video and described the controversy as an effort to malign his reputation.<\/p>\n
