The initiative will provide consumers with a safer, more reliable and efficient power supply while modernizing the district&#8217;s electrical network.<\/p>\n<p>Giving more information, Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal stated that works are being carried out in Kapurthala city under the Beautification scheme, include replacement of old and unsafe poles, installation of new poles, replacement of outdated meter boxes, laying of new electrical cables and relocation of poles that obstruct traffic movement. He said these measures would not only improve the reliability of electricity supply but also contribute significantly to the city&#8217;s beautification by removing hanging wires, damaged poles and other visual obstructions.<br \/>\nSimilarly under the ULB Scheme, infrastructure works have also commenced in Begowal, Bholath, Nadala, Sultanpur Lodhi and Dhilwan. A total of 52 new distribution transformers are being installed in Kapurthala District from which 47 transformers already installed including 7 in Bholath &amp; Begowal and 4 in Nadala, 5 in Sultanpur Lodhi and 4 in Dhilwan town while the capacity of 41 existing transformers is already enhanced to cater to increasing power demand. In addition, conductors and other distribution equipment are being upgraded to strengthen the power distribution system and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Commissioner further informed that the Municipal Corporation has also deposited the required funds with PSPCL for shifting electricity lines passing over residential houses in Kapurthala city. The work is currently underway and is expected to eliminate safety hazards associated with overhead lines while improving the quality and safety of the distribution network.<br \/>\nReiterating the administration&#8217;s commitment to providing safe, reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply, he said the ongoing projects would help eliminate damaged and dangling wires, replace outdated equipment, remove poles causing traffic bottlenecks and strengthen the network to meet future electricity requirements.<br \/>\nThe Deputy Commissioner appealed that any citizen can contact the administration&#8217;s helpline number 01822-233777 for any kind of assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Engineer Dr Surinder Paul Sondhi urged residents to report issues such as damaged poles, hanging wires and faulty meter boxes.
