Pune: Pune Police on Sunday recreated the crime scene in the murder of Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort, as investigators claimed the two accused had searched online for “death points” at the tourist site and methods to avoid raising police suspicion.<\/p>\n
According to police, the reconstruction began at around 6.30 am, when the investigation team took the two accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, to Lohagad Fort. The exercise lasted for nearly two-and-a-half hours.<\/p>\n
Deputy Superintendent of Police Gajanan Tonpe said a dummy weighing the same as the victim was used to recreate the sequence of events based on Siya Goyal’s account.<\/p>\n
“We brought Siya Goyal to the crime scene this morning and reconstructed the entire incident as per her version. A dummy matching Ketan’s weight was prepared so that the incident could be recreated in the same manner for the investigation,” Tonpe said.<\/p>\n
Police also claimed that the accused had conducted several online searches before the murder. Investigators alleged that the pair searched Google for “death points” at Lohagad Fort, routes to the spot, and information about nearby gorges.<\/p>\n
According to police, the accused also searched queries such as “how to kill using poison without police suspicion”, possible answers to police questioning if caught, and which WhatsApp messages should be deleted.<\/p>\n
Investigators further alleged that Chetan Chaudhary left his mobile phone at a shop on the day of the murder to conceal his location and used another handset instead. Police said deleted WhatsApp messages are now being examined through forensic analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
