New Delhi: The family of slain human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra has publicly endorsed the ZEE5 film ‘Sutlej’, saying the version currently streaming on the OTT platform faithfully presents his life and struggle.<\/p>\n
In a statement shared on social media, Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra, wife of Jaswant Singh Khalra, said the version released on ZEE5 is the original film that was first screened for the family. She asserted that despite intense political pressure and repeated attempts to alter the storyline, the makers preserved the film’s core narrative and authenticity.<\/p>\n
Expressing relief over the film’s release, she said that after years of political hurdles and challenges, the true story of her husband’s life had finally reached audiences.<\/p>\n
She described Jaswant Singh Khalra’s life as a fearless struggle for truth, justice and human rights, adding that it was important for the family that his story, along with the atrocities faced by Sikhs during that period, be presented honestly without distortion, exaggeration or alteration.<\/p>\n
