Chandigarh: A late-night altercation at a nightclub in Chandigarh’s Sector 7 turned violent after a student pursuing higher education in France was allegedly assaulted and threatened with death. Police have registered a case against five people, including Punjabi singer Karan Aujla’s manager Baldeep Singh Sarao alias Bali and Jagdeep Singh Kang alias Jaggi, an accused in the 2022 attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali.<\/p>\n
According to the FIR, the incident occurred around 2 am on July 12. The complainant, Dhruv Trehan, a resident of Ferozepur and a Master’s in Finance student at EDHEC Business School, France, told police that he was standing outside the club with his friend when an argument broke out with another person.<\/p>\n
Trehan alleged that when he tried to intervene, the accused twisted his fingers forcefully before returning with four to five associates and attacking him. He claimed the group repeatedly punched and kicked him, struck him with an iron bangle and hit him on the head with a table, causing serious injuries. He further alleged that the assault left him unable to hear from his left ear.<\/p>\n
In his complaint, Trehan said one of the accused, identified as Aniket Gupta, claimed to be the son of a judge and allegedly threatened to shoot him and his family. He also claimed the accused later brandished a pistol taken from a car and attempted to run him over with a BMW outside the club, allegedly hitting several vehicles in the process.<\/p>\n
Trehan further alleged that despite efforts by the club owner and others to calm the situation, the accused continued issuing threats. Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
