Not celebrating 400th Parkash Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is highly condemnable for Punjab government: Former SGPC chief

Punjab E News (New Delhi):- Former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Gobind Singh Longowal said that it is highly condemnable for the AAP-led Punjab government for not celebrating the 400-year-old Prakash Purb of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who laid down his life in Delhi's Chandni Chowk.

He criticised Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann and said that at a time the 400-year-old Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Maharaj ji is being celebrated with great devotion and spirit all over the world even by the Centre government but Punjab CM who belongs to a Sikh family and is the native of the land of the Gurus and Pirs, 'ignored' the event, Longowal told to media.

"AAP government should have organized a state level event," he said adding that successive governments have been celebrating the centennials of the Gurus in the past, but now the AAP government in Punjab is in power and did not celebrate the Parkash Purab is highly condemnable.
