Beer, liquor become costlier in Haryana
Chandigarh: Starting today (June 12), liquor and beer will be more expensive in Haryana. The price of country liquor will increase by 5 rupees and beer by 20 rupees. The price of bottles of English wine has also been raised by 5 percent.
A new excise policy is being implemented in Haryana, bringing imported liquor under its purview. The wholesale price at which contractors obtain foreign liquor will include a 20 percent profit margin.
Licensed bar operators in hotels will now be able to purchase liquor from any of the three nearby contractors, with the condition that each of the three liquor contracts must be held by different license holders.
This time, the excise policy has increased by 7 percent compared to the reserve price, although the price of liquor has increased less. Previously, the price per box was increased by 50 to 60 rupees. This time, it has been increased by 20 to 25 rupees per box.
