28-year-old woman strangled with dupatta in Naroda GIDC

AHMEDABAD: Mystery shrouds the death of a 28-year-old married woman whose body was found in the bushes near Naroda GIDC on September 30. She was strangled with a dupatta when she had gone to have a bath near her house that evening. An FIR filed with Naroda police stated that Madhu Damor, the victim, and her husband Amrat Damor lived with their two kids and Madhu’s brother Rama Damor in Naroda GIDC Phase-3. Amrat worked at a chemicals manufacturing unit which provided him with a room as accommodation. Madhu worked at a rubber products manufacturing unit in GIDC. On September 30, Madhu and Amrat went to their respective workplaces in the morning and returned on Amrat’s bike in the evening. Later, Amrat went to buy vegetables and Madhu went to the bathroom in front of their room to have a bath. Rama Damor, a resident of Kalakhetra village of Mahisagar district, was also living with them. He said that he had gone to collect wood at the time. When Rama and Amrat returned to their room, they did not find her either in the house or in the bathroom. They went looking for her but could not find her anywhere nearby. At around 9.30pm, they found her lying unconscious near the bushes with a dupatta around her neck. They called an ambulance, but the paramedics declared her dead. According to the FIR, a doctor of 108 ambulance said that she had been strangled with the dupatta. Naroda police have registered a murder complaint against an unknown person.
