All four accused acquitted in Gurlal murder case in Chandigarh
Chandigarh: A local court acquitted all four accused in the murder case of student leader Gurlal, cousin of Canada-based gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, citing a lack of witnesses and evidence.
The acquitted individuals are Neeraj Chaska, Chamkaur Singh, Gurmeet Singh Geeta, and Gurvinder Singh. Despite the police presenting Gurlal’s girlfriend and a man named Vikas Tiwari as witnesses, both stated in court that they did not witness the murder.
Following Gurlal’s murder in 2020, a gang war erupted in Punjab. In retaliation, Goldy Brar killed District Youth Congress President Gurlal Singh Bhullar alias Pehalwan in Faridkot.
Subsequently, Vicky Middukhera, a youth leader close to Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi, was shot dead in Mohali. Speculation arose that the Bambiha gang orchestrated this murder to avenge the wrestler’s death.
A year later, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead, purportedly in retaliation for Middukhera’s death, with Goldy Brar claiming responsibility.
