ASI suspended after video of accepting bribe goes viral, departmental inquiry against police station in-charge
Chandigarh: ASI Davinder Singh, posted at the police station in Sekhwan village, has been suspended after the latest case of Batala police personnel taking bribe came to light. He took a bribe of Rs 2000 from the person named in the 304-A case on the pretext of presenting the challan of the case in the court, the video of which seems to be going viral rapidly.
In the viral video, it can be seen that the person named in the 304-A case reaches the Ravidas Sekhwan police station to present the challan of his case in the court and ASI Davinder Singh, who is investigating the case, finds inside the police station itself and takes Rs 2000 from Ravidas’s brother Rajinder out of the bribe of Rs 8,000 demanded by Davinder Singh which can be clearly heard and seen.
The victim, Ravidas, and his brother Rajinder said that Ravidas was returning home from work with one of his colleagues when they met with an accident in which Ravidas was injured and another motorcyclist was also injured and he died on the way to the hospital.
