Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma receives threat from Pro-Khalistani outfit
New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has reportedly received a threat from the banned Khalistani outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) through an audio message. Assam Police is verifying the audio clip, meanwhile all districts have been alerted.
In the purported audio clip, the speaker identified himself as Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu is the self-proclaimed leader of ‘Sikhs for Justice’ who is living in the US and is included in the list of most wanted terrorists in India. In the alleged threat received by CM Sarma, it has been said that Amritpal’s associates in Assam jails are being tortured by the state government.
According to the information, the alleged threat said, “This message is for Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma. Your government is torturing and torturing pro-Khalistan Sikhs in Assam. Those who are in jail are also being tortured. Listen carefully, CM Sarma, the fight is between pro-Khalistan Sikhs and Indian rule. Sir, don’t become a victim of violence.”
