Chinese PhD student found guilty of drugging, raping women in UK
London: A Chinese national studying in the UK has been convicted of drugging and raping multiple women in London.
The perpetrator, identified as Zhenhao Zoe, a PhD student, was found guilty last month of sexually assaulting 10 women after lacing their drinks with drugs.
Initially, many victims hesitated to report the assaults, but after multiple women came forward, the court found Zoe guilty. So far, 23 women have filed complaints against him, while police believe the actual number of victims could be higher.
Investigators revealed that Zoe filmed his assaults, with video evidence showing at least 50 victims. Authorities are now working to identify other women who may have been targeted. Police also suspect he may have been part of a larger network.
Two women recently approached the police with allegations. One victim claimed that Zoe had drugged and raped her in China, leaving her conscious but unable to move or speak.
Another woman reported a similar assault in London, stating she woke up to find Zoe sexually abusing her while recording the act.
Zoe is scheduled to be sentenced in June.
