CIA cop shot dead in encounter between Punjab Police and gangster in Hoshiarpur

Chandigarh: An encounter occurred between CIA personnel and gangsters in Hoshiarpur, Punjab on Sunday, resulting in a CIA staff member being hit by a bullet fired from the gangsters’ side, leading to the employee’s death. The gangster managed to escape after sustaining injuries.

The deceased has been identified as senior constable Amritpal Singh, and the body has been sent for postmortem examination. According to sources, the Hoshiarpur CIA staff team had received information that gangster Rana Mansurpuria was hiding with weapons in Mansurpur village of Mukerian.

Based on this information, the police set a trap in the morning, but upon encountering the police, the accused initiated gunfire.

According to the information, gangster Rana is originally from Mansurpur village of Mukeria. The encounter took place near Mahakpur village adjacent to Mansurpur. According to the police, cases were registered against the gangster in Hoshiarpur earlier under various sections, including arms smuggling.
