Cop killed, 10 others injured after Nihangs open fire over control of gurdwara in Sultanpur Lodhi 

Sultanpur Lodhi: A gunfight broke out between police and Nihangs over the possession of Gurdwara Sri Akal Bunga Sahib at Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala district of Punjab on Thursday morning. In this incident, a policeman was shot dead, while 10 policemen, including the DSP, were injured
There is still a possibility of 30-40 armed Nihangs present inside the gurdwara. They have warned that if the police take any action, they will engage in firing again. The atmosphere in Kapurthala is tense after this incident. Officers have also reached the spot with heavy police force.
The police arrived to arrest the Nihangs
There is a dispute between two groups over the possession of this gurudwara. Last night, the police arrested 10 nihangs who had captured them. The police had information that some Nihangs involved in the FIR of this case are hiding in this gurudwara. The police reached the gurudwara to catch them. During this, the Nihangs opened fire on the police. As the situation deteriorated, the police also fired tear gas shells to control the situation.
