Dera Bassi: Woman ASI booked for taking bribe from rape victim

Chandigarh: A case of bribery by a woman ASI has come to light in Derabassi, located near Chandigarh. A case was registered on Monday night after a video of a woman ASI taking bribe from a rape victim in Dera Bassi went viral, police said on Tuesday.

The action was taken against the accused woman ASI Praveen Kaur on the instructions of senior police officials.
The video is stated to be a few weeks old. The accused, Praveen Kaur, was then posted at Derabassi police station. She is currently posted at police lines. Dera Bassi police have registered a case and started investigating the matter.
The accused woman ASI Praveen Kaur was felicitated by MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa and administration for her better services in the police at the Independence Day function on August 15.
