“Didn’t know he was Amritpal Singh,” says cart driver after photo surfaced online
Chandigarh: The search for Khalistani radical leader Amritpal Singh continues on the sixth day. The police are constantly conducting raids to arrest him. Meanwhile, taking to media, the driver of three-wheeler cart on which Amritpal took a lift while running, said that he did not know that he was Amritpal Singh.
“I was driving my cart that day when I was stopped. There were two people, they asked me where the Pulsar shop was. I told them that it is 5 km from here. I dropped them in Mahatpur. They gave me Rs 100 as rent. Both people were talking to each other. Amritpal had changed his appearance, so I could not recognize him.”
According to the police, Amritpal Singh first boarded a Mercedes-Benz car in Shahkot (Jalandhar) while fleeing. Then in Nangal Ambian (Jalandhar Rural), he fled on a Brezza car and then on Platina motorcycle. When the bike ran out of petrol, he took a three-wheeler cart in Darapur (Jalandhar Rural).
