Ex-Congress councillor from Jalandhar swallows poisonous substance, dies

Punjabenews: Sushil Kalia, a former Congress councillor from ward number 64, who is facing allegations of fraud, committed suicide by swallowing some poisonous substance. After swallowing the poisonous substance, he was admitted to the hospital as his condition became critical, where he died during treatment.

The name of Vicky Kalia had cropped up in the case of grant of Rs 50 lakh given by MLA Bawa Henry. Cases have also been registered against other members of his family in the case. Vicky Kalia was granted bail by the High Court but his son Anshuman’s bail has also been rejected by the Supreme Court.
