Ex-MLA held hostage by miscreants, demands Rs 50 lakh ransom

Chandigarh: Former Congress MLA from Mansa Mangat Rai Bansal was held hostage by miscreants in an educational institution.

The miscreants then thrashed him and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. The assailants had come in an SUV car, police officials said.
The CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, in which some suspicious people are seen. There is also talk that the former MLA has a money transaction with these people, due to which these people have attacked Mangat Rai, but no official has confirmed so far.
Mangat Rai has been admitted to the Government Hospital (Budhlada) in an injured condition. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
After receiving the information, people came to know about the former MLA’s health.
Police are investigating the case.
