Mohali Bank manager arrested in multi-crore fraud case
Chandigarh: Mohali police have arrested Gaurav Sharma, the manager of Axis Bank, who had been absconding after duping people of crores of rupees.
The accused will be produced in court today, and his police remand will be obtained.
During his time in hiding, where the accused stayed and who aided him will be questioned during the interrogation of the accused while in police remand. The police have also recovered crores of rupees cheated by the accused.
A case under sections of cheating has been registered against Gaurav at Mullanpur police station. According to sources, Mohali SSP Sandeep Garg will hold a press conference regarding this case today.
Upon learning that the accused bank manager had fled after swindling crores, people gathered outside the bank, protesting and chanting slogans. The farmers’ union also extended their support.
Following this, Mohali SSP Sandeep Garg formed a special team for the case, and the police conducted raids in the surrounding area to apprehend the accused. Despite their efforts, the accused remained elusive until the police finally located and arrested him, bringing him to Mohali.
