NIA arrests man who provided shelter to accused of attack on Punjab Police’s intelligence headquarters
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Lucknow resident from Delhi for his alleged links with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Vikas Singh, a resident of Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar Extension, had allegedly provided shelter to bishnoi’s terrorist syndicate members who carried out a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on the Intelligence Headquarters of Punjab Police in Mohali in May 2022.
On May 17 this year, the agency carried out searches at three locations in Uttar Pradesh, including Vikas Singh’s apartment in Lucknow. The NIA produced him before a Delhi court and obtained a five-day remand. The NIA said in a press statement that Vikas Singh had given shelter to Deepak Surkhpur and Divyanshu, who carried out the RPG attack, several times.
