Mohali: Gangster Karanjit Singh alias Jassa Haipowal was shot in an encounter with police in Zirakpur, Punjab on Wednesday morning. The police had recovered the pistol, but he started escaping from custody.
The police first fired in the air and then shot him in the leg. He has been captured in an injured condition, but there is no clarity about whether he is alive or dead. He is reported to have been shot 6 times. An employee was also injured in the incident. Jassa was most wanted in 6 murder cases.
