Punjab-origin woman sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison for laundering drugs in London
London: A 41-year-old Indian-origin woman has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for working as a courier of money and drugs for the Buckinghamshire-based organised crime group. London-based Mandeep Kaur was arrested with £50,000 in June 2020 following an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit. After two weeks of trial, she was unanimously indicted by a jury last week.
The court said that Mandeep Kaur smuggled drugs and transported the money from here to there.
