Rival liquor contractor groups create ruckus

12 people belonging to a liquor vendor have been arrested by the Amritsar Police for opening fire at the Festian Palace under Verka police station late on Friday night. 

It is learnt that the shooters were the agents of a liquor baron. People present at the spot said that the accused fired more than many rounds. 

 Verka police station in-charge Kirandeep Singh said that 12 people have been . It is learnt that the people who attended the wedding ceremony had purchased liquor from another contractor. As soon as the information was received, the contractor’s workers selling liquor reached there.

People present at the spot said that 30 to 35 people had arrived in ten cars. The accused had pistols of Point 315 bore, Point 312 bore. As soon as the accused entered the palace, women, elderly and children who took part in the wedding were present there.
