Rs 50 lakh bribe to AIG case: Former Minister Arora’s bail plea in Mohali High Court today
Punjab E News: The Punjab and Haryana High Court will hear on Friday the bail plea of jailed former Punjab minister Sunder Sham Arora in a bribery case.
On December 22, the High Court had adjourned the matter for hearing today. Earlier, during the last hearing, the High Court had ordered the Punjab government to file a status report of the case.
After the state government filed a status report, accused Arora could not get relief from the High Court. Now the bail application will be heard in the High Court today.
Arora had earlier filed a petition in a Mohali court in Punjab seeking regular bail. Arora was sent to judicial custody after the court rejected his plea. On November 11, Arora had moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking regular bail.
Attempt to bribe AIG of Rs 50 lakh
Sunder Sham Arora had tried to bribe Vigilance AIG Manmohan Kumar to pay Rs 50 lakh to him to defend himself in a case. During this time, the vigilance team arrested him with the bribe amount.
