Separate cell set up for Amritpal in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail, interrogated by IB officials
New Delhi: Amritpal Singh, the head of Waris Punjab De lodged in Dibrugarh Central Jail, is revealing his secrets. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) team questioned Amritpal on Tuesday evening. The Punjab Police on Sunday arrested Amritpal Singh under the National Security Act (NSA) and immediately took him to the Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam, where nine of his close aides are lodged.
According to sources Amritpal Singh has been kept in a separate cell and the IB team went there in for questioning where the team questioned Amritpal for a few hours. However, no official confirmation has been issued in this regard.
There were reports that central intelligence agencies such as the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and the IB were coming from Delhi to question Amritpal Singh. However, Assam Police Inspector General (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar Bhuiya said officers of these agencies are already posted in Assam. “Officials of all such central investigative agencies are already posted in Assam.
