Vigilance registers disproportionate case against Panchayats Secretary
Punjabenews: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state, on Friday registered a disproportionate case against Taranjit Singh, posted as Panchayats Secretary, in the office of Block Development and Panchayats Office (BDPO), Balachour, SBS Nagar for amassing wealth than his known sources of income.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the state VB said this case has been registered against the above said accused after investigation of a source report regarding the allegations of disproportionate assets created through corruption.
Giving details he further informed that during the investigation the income/expenditure for the check period from date 01.04.2010 to 30.06.2017 was fixed and it was found that the accused Taranjit Singh have a total income of Rs. 57,50,879 and total expenditure was found to be Rs. 69,09,616 during the same period.
He further added that the it has came to light that the total expenditure incurred by the accused has increased by Rs. 11,58,737 as compared to the income received by him during the check period. In this regard the total expenditure was Rs 20.14 percent more than the total income of the above accused than the income from his own sources of income during the check period.
He informed that a case against the accused Taranjit Singh has been registered at VB Police Station, Jalandhar. The VB has dispatched teams to arrest the accused, he said.
