Canada issues travel advisory for US and China, warns citizens of new regulations
Ottawa: Canada has issued a travel advisory for its citizens visiting the US and China, warning of new regulations and potential risks.
The advisory states that Canadians and other foreign nationals staying in the US for more than 30 days must register with the government. Failure to comply could lead to fines, legal action, or other penalties.
In China, Canadians have been urged to exercise extreme caution, particularly those with dual citizenship. The advisory follows tensions between Canada and China after Beijing executed four Canadians earlier this year on drug-related charges.
Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly had criticized China over the executions, stating that all four individuals held dual citizenship.
