Ludhiana primary school head teacher booked for fraud, absconding

Chandigarh: A case has been registered against the head teacher of a primary school in Ludhiana, Punjab, for allegedly making over 2,500 fake admissions. The police acted on the statements of the District Education Officer and have launched raids to arrest the accused, who is currently absconding.

The accused, Nisha Rani, was posted as a head teacher at a primary school in Sekhewal village of Mangat-2 district. A departmental investigation revealed that she had been involved in fraudulent activities, leading to the exposure of the scam.

Authorities are now reviewing her past records to determine how long she had been carrying out such actions.

Officials said Nisha misappropriated funds from the mid-day meal grant, uniform grant, and student stipend grant. She also allegedly tampered with school records.

Following the investigation, Daba police have registered a case against her under Sections 409 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
