Patiala man dies in Australia, reached five months ago on spouse visa

Chandigarh: A Patiala resident who had gone to Australia on a spouse visa to meet his wife died under suspicious circumstances.

Youth Navinder Singh, traveled to the Sydney area of Australia about five months ago. Navinder Singh’s mother, Manjit Kaur, is a constable in the Punjab Police.

Manjit Kaur said that she had sent her daughter-in-law, Kulwinder Kaur, to Australia in 2019 after spending Rs 30 lakh. The couple also has a 5-year-old child. As soon as Navinder Singh reached Australia on a spouse visa, Kulwinder Kaur told him to stay separately with his friends.

Navinder Singh, who was living apart from his wife, died under suspicious circumstances, and his post-mortem was conducted in Australia. His body has not yet reached Patiala. The family is taking legal action to bring his body back.
