Punjab declares April 14 as public holiday to mark Ambedkar Jayanti

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on April 14 (Monday) to mark the birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution.

According to an official notification issued by the state government, all schools, colleges, government offices, banks, boards, and corporations in Punjab will remain closed on the day. The holiday has been declared as a gazetted holiday across the state.

The decision has been taken to honour the contribution of Dr Ambedkar, whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
