Students from Bihar attacked in Bathinda university clash
Chandigarh: A group of students from Bihar were attacked with sharp-edged weapons by fellow students from the same state at Guru Kashi University in Bathinda, Punjab.
It is alleged that more than 22 local students entered the hostel during the clash. Some students have also accused the university administration of complicity.
Another fight broke out on Friday, leaving 10 students injured, including two from Bihar. All are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
University vice-chancellor Dr. SK Bawa said, “This fight did not take place between Punjabis and students from Bihar. Two groups of students from Bihar clashed, and one group involved local friends in the fight. The university has identified students from both groups, and all involved will face restrictions.”
The exact date of the incident remains unclear. It came to light after students from Bihar posted on social media, appealing for help from the Punjab and Bihar governments.
