Students of Innocent Hearts took oath for environmental protection under the project ‘Mera Shehar Mera Maan’
Jalandhar: A seminar on environmental protection was organized at Innocent Hearts School under ‘Disha an Initiative’ run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust. Under the project ‘Mera Shehar Mera Maan’, Mrs. Saroj Kapoor from Municipal Corporation along with her team apprised the students of ‘Eco and Disaster Management Club’ about the importance of ‘Three Rs- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’.
They gave complete information about wet waste, dry waste, and hazardous waste to the children. They also informed the students about how wet waste can be used to make compost. Students were made aware through slogans written on different banners ‘My garbage my responsibility’, ‘My bag my pride’, and ‘Remove plastic save the country’. They told the children about useless items in their homes like old clothes, old books, children’s toys, tiffin, water bottles, electronic items, and plastic items at the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) center. Because the goods collected by them can be helpful to needy people. The team of Municipal Corporation along with the children also planted saplings in the school garden. ‘Plant trees, save trees, make this world beautiful.’ With the message, the children were motivated to plant more and more trees.
