US warns Indian, foreign students against leaving courses without notice

Washington: The US has issued a stern warning to Indian and other foreign students, cautioning that leaving their courses without informing their university could lead to the cancellation of their student visas.

The advisory comes amid an ongoing crackdown on illegal immigrants and growing concerns over mass deportations. The US Embassy in India, in an official statement, said, “If you leave a course, miss classes, or withdraw from your study program without informing your university, your student visa may be revoked. This will prevent you from getting a US visa in the future.”

The embassy urged students to strictly follow the conditions of their visa and maintain their student status to avoid any complications.

The warning follows reports of several foreign students facing sudden visa cancellations. Some cases have been linked to participation in pro-Palestinian protests, traffic violations, or other breaches of visa conditions.
