At least 21 people died in several hurricanes in US
Washington: From March 31 to April 1, at least seven states have been affected by strong storms and dark weather in the mid-western and southern parts of the US. At present, the death toll has reached 21 and houses have collapsed in many cities and towns.
According to local media reports, the roof of a theater collapsed on the night of March 31 in Illinois due to strong winds and thunder. Around 260 people attended a music programme at the theatre at the time of the incident.
A 50-year-old man died and nearly 40 people were injured. Also, in Crawford County, the storm killed three people and damaged several houses.
In Arkansas, five people were killed and at least 50 injured in the storm. At least seven people have been killed in Tennessee, five in Indiana, Alabama and Mississippi, and some damage has been done in eastern Lowa.
