Australia: Teachers, nurses to get visas in three days

New Delhi: With the Department of Home Affairs discontinuing the use of the old ‘Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List’ and prioritising skilled visa applications, it has now become possible to evaluate the visas of teachers and healthcare workers within just three days.

The government believes that these steps have been taken in view of the current shortage of skilled workers due to the pandemic. For September 2020, 44 occupations were included in the ‘Skilled Migration Occupation List’.
