Bangladesh protest: Around 1,000 Indian students return, 4000 still remain
New Delhi: Around 1,000 Indian students have returned to India due to violent protests in Bangladesh. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Saturday said it is coordinating with aviation, immigration, ports and BSF authorities to ensure that Indian nationals reach home safely.
As many as 778 Indian students have returned to India through various ports while around 200 students have returned home through regular flight services from Dhaka and Chittagong airports.
The Indian High Commission in Dhaka and the Assistant High Commission in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna are assisting in the repatriation of the Indian nationals.
