Bangladesh: Supreme Court Chief Justice decides to resign after protesting students give ultimatum

Dhaka: Bangladesh Supreme Court Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan on Saturday decided to resign from his post in the wake of protests by students. These students had issued an ultimatum to them and the judges of the appellate division to resign by 1 pm.

This claim has been made in media reports. The 65-year-old judge will tender his resignation in the evening after consulting President Mohammad Shahabuddin, the Dhaka Tribune newspaper reported.
