Canada police confirm arrest of gangster Arsh Dalla after violent shootout

Toronto: Canadian police have confirmed the arrest of Arshdeep Singh Gill, known as Arsh Dalla, following a recent shooting incident in Halton.

Dalla, who has a history of charges including murder and extortion in Punjab, India, was one of two men detained after the incident. Documents presented in court revealed Dalla’s identity, and authorities disclosed that a significant reward had been offered for his capture.

Dalla sustained three gunshot wounds during an ambush allegedly orchestrated by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Unable to escape due to a bullet wound in his thigh, he was apprehended by Canadian authorities.

His vehicle, a stolen luxury car with a fake license plate, was found riddled with bullet holes, and police recovered multiple firearms and ammunition from the scene.

Halton police initially withheld Dalla’s identity but later confirmed it during his court appearance. Due to his injuries, he was not immediately presented in court, though he now faces 11 criminal charges.

It remains unclear whether Dalla was granted bail or remanded to custody. Authorities have yet to disclose potential charges against the attackers, who are suspected to be affiliated with the Bishnoi gang.

The case has highlighted ongoing concerns about gang violence and transnational crime involving organized groups operating across borders.
