Dense fog disrupts over 100 flights at Delhi airport
New Delhi: Dense fog disrupted operations at Delhi airport on Sunday, affecting over 100 flights due to low visibility. While no flights have been cancelled or diverted as of yet, several have faced delays over the past three days, an official confirmed.
The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) urged passengers to stay updated on flight schedules through their respective airlines. “Passengers are requested to stay in touch with the airline for information about flights,” DIAL said in a post on X.
IndiGo Airlines also reported disruptions, stating that flights to and from Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Lucknow were impacted by adverse weather conditions.
Meanwhile, dense fog caused significant disruptions at Srinagar International Airport, where at least 10 flights were cancelled on Sunday. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) reported visibility at the Srinagar airport was reduced to just 50 metres in the morning, leading to the diversion of all flights scheduled before 10 a.m.
