Heavy rains wreak havoc in Canada’s Toronto
Toronto: Canada’s largest Toronto city, has closed major highways and roads due to flooding caused by incessant rains. Normal life and electricity were affected in many areas due to floods.
Toronto police said a portion of the Don Valley Parkway, which leads from the northern part of the city to the downtown area, was closed due to flooding. He said part of Lakeshore Boulevard, a road adjacent to Lake Ontario, was flooded with water and closed.
The Toronto Fire Services said they rescued 14 people on the highway during the flooding. “We are rescuing people trapped in the water, including cars,” Deputy Fire Chief Jim Jessop told reporters.
